The 6th Brigade will be hosting a SC Division Graves Registration Workshop on the 20th of August in Batesburg, SC. This workshop will better explain and demonstrate the process of finding, documenting and recording our Confederat Ancestor's final resting places to ensure that they are accounted for and protected under current law.
The Workshop will be on the 20th of August, 2011 at 10:00 AM. The Workshop will be held at the Batesburg Cemetery located at the intersection of South Peachtree Street and Howard Street. Turn south off of US Hwy 1 onto South Peachtree St. The intersection of South Peachtree St. and Hwy 1 is approximately 2.1 miles west of Shealy’s Barbecue. Go south (2 blocks) on S. Peachtree St. and it will dead end at the Cemetery on Howard St. For those of you with a Garmin, Tom Tom, etc. the coordinates of the Cemetery are N33.89975 and W81.54811.
The Workshop is open to all members of your Brigades and especially to Camp Graves Registration Officers, Brigade Coordinators, Brigade Commanders, and Camp Commanders. Please get this information to your Brigades. Tell your members to bring something to write with, a digital camera if they have one, and a folding chair if they would like. We will start at 10:00 AM

This month we will have our friend and 4th Brigade Commander Ed Westbury from Camden come and speak to the camp on the Great Confederate Revival. Meeting starts at 6.30pm.

The July meeting of Palmetto Camp #22 will be held on the the 12th at 6:30pm at Maurices BBQ in West Columbia. We will have Compatriot Irvin Shuler of Eutaw Regiment Camp #1189 speaking on the Cemeteries of Calhoun County.

For 2011 the 6th Brigade will reclaim the Smith Family Cemetery located in Gaston, SC on Hwy. 6 in Lexington County.
